Project in collaboration with Lluís Llenas and Roger Xicola
Time is supposed to be rigid: hours, minutes and numbers lined up. But what if it wasn’t? For Muji, we designed the Pin Clock: a simple cork block with a clock mechanism and nothing else. No numbers, no up or down and no rules. Just a clean slate. It comes with translucent pins with numbers and icons. You decide what matters, where it goes, how it looks. Pin reminders, post-its, photos. A clock that doesn’t tell you what time is. You tell it.
The Pin Clock’s language is as bare and honest as it gets: a raw cork extrusion, two translucent hands floating quietly, and a single red seconds hand that moves without fuss. Nothing extra, nothing decorative. It follows Muji’s values to the letter—simplicity, functionality, and the beauty of the essential. It doesn’t ask for attention; it just works, and lets you shape it as you like.
