In partnership with Adif, Relif proposes a visionary response to the student housing crisis by reimagining urban dormant assets. The project thoughtfully adapts decommissioned Renfe train carriages and the former La Maquinista depot into a vibrant community for students.
This initiative is a direct application of circular economy principles, transforming industrial heritage into a living ecosystem.
Following the same logic of reuse and adaptability, the furniture system is conceived using the Ulm Stool by Max Bill as the minimum modular unit. Its geometric clarity serves as the basis for an adaptable system capable of generating seating, storage, and work surfaces, allowing spaces to evolve according to students’ needs while maintaining material efficiency and coherence with the project’s circular approach.
